I think it's definitely a novelty-shaped Slinky...I have a round, plastic one coloured like that, and I've seen Slinkys (or is it "Slinkies"?) come in other shapes too. Cheers, Dan

I am thinking that this is a vinyl lid gripping thing used to help remove tight lids from jars.

I agree with WOW! What comes to mind is a slinky but this isn't round... so is it an odd shaped slinky? ;) Ann
