05/01/2024 - LRM-151739.jpg

Yesterday morning started out with a brief dog walk, followed by some dandelion picking and the photo below. I felt a little twinge under my ribs, but just figured it was a cramp or something. As the pain under my ribs quickly grew to a 7 or 8, I grew concerned. The rest of the day and early evening was spent in the ER, being treated for a kidney stone! Never had one before, and unfortunately it still hasn't passed. Today I was at the urologist for more pain meds. The pain is unbearable at times. Hopefully, it will pass tonight or tomorrow sometime. Please forgive me for not commenting.

Ouch! Hope it has passed.
A few years ago there were stories about kidney stones being encouraged to pass by taking rides on roller coasters with loops. Time to do some research:

That can sure hurt Carl. Drink lots of beer and maybe it will pop out. Mine did some years ago.

Yikes!! I have not had kidney stones but understand the pain can be intolerable. I really hope you find relief and the problem is solved.

You have my sympathies. I have had at least seven kidney stone attacks. Delivering my three children was less painful. My kidney stones were caused by an overactive parathyroid gland. It can pull calcium out of your bones and cause stones. I did have parathyroid surgerythat helped with the problem but I presently have a kidney stone in each kidney and live in fear of another attack. I hope you are able to pass it. I have also had lithotripsy twice. Let me know if you have any questions. Feel better.

So sorry about you having a kidney stone! I have a history of kidney stones and 3 surgeries. Not fun. I take Flomax every day. Get better soon!

So sorry to hear this. Friend's husband had to have surgery for his kidney stones recently - hopefully you won't need that.

Yikes!!! I've heard that passing a kidney stone can be as painful as childbirth. Feel better VERY soon!!! Good thoughts headed your way.
