This is such an amazing world in which we live! It's truly amazing how many critters there are out there that most never see, and it's sad to me that most don't ever care to see. Well we care to see, so here are a few we found in the yard and field today with very little effort. View Original for best detail. Left to right, top to bottom:
20-Spotted Lady Beetle (Psyllobora vigintimaculata)
Red-banded Leafhopper (Graphocephala coccinea)
Long-legged fly (Condylostylus flavipes) (Was 'lunch' on the leaf with the spider second row)
Plant Bug (Genus Rhinocapsus)
False Darkling Beetle (Dircaea liturata)
Meshweaver Spider (Family Dictynidae)
Soldier Beetle (Polemius laticornis)
Plant Bug (Lopidea instabilis)
Pure Green Sweat Bee (Augochlora pura)
Goldenrod Leaf Miner Beetle (Microrhopala vittata)
Dogwood Spittlebug (Clastoptera proteus)
Fork-tailed Bush Katydid (Scudderia furcata)
Ichneumoid Wasp (Subfamily Ichneumoninae)
Not sure about this one—maybe a leaf hopper nymph, but it using camouflage that looks like insect droppings!
Eastern Calligrapher (Toxomerus geminatus)
Not sure about the last one either, but it may be an Assassin or Plant Bug of some sort.
