Lots of patterns! I really do like the difference between the water in the foreground versus the water in the background and how that all works with the log's textures and the patterns on the turtle's shell and neck. It does look like he's giving us a big smile :) Jim H.

I'm impressed, Brent! :) I like this image very much... perhaps not for 'low key' since it appears to have been made in 'normal' lighting conditions and worked up to be low key, but I really like the patterns the water and the shell and the neck and the log all make together. ~Lydia

Thanks Carole, he is a cute little guy isn't he :-) I used the Canon 1.4X extender for this. This friend was pretty far out in the lagoon so I had to crop quite a bit. I'm thinking the extender does a good job with holding sharpness. Not bad for handheld in the wind huh?

Very cute turtle Brent - made me smile. I like the detail in the log and his shell and it almost looks like he's smiling at us! That extender seems to work well for you, the image looks very good - what brand did you get? :-) CJ
