I like the motion blur effect also. I also like how there is some ambiguity between the waves and the feathers. Well done. -- Victor

Thanks Nico and RK, it suffers from motion blur and grain due to ISO 1250 and I guess the reaction with a little sharpening gave that effect.

I smoothed them a little but they are pretty much as shot. I did use the 580 flash here to boost exposure and give a useable shutter speed but exif does not indicate that.

The birds were close and I used the high speed 8.5fps in hope of catching a shot with the desired background. Kids were feeding them bread and it was chaotic.

Wow! Bob... this looks like oil on canvas, really like it. Agree with Nico about the feet.

You and your birds in mid-flight! Excellent image! If I may offer a minor critique: I am not 100% whether the feet look realistic, perhaps over-sharpened? Regards Nico
