Thank you all for your comments. Yes it does play with ones brain doesn't it. If you get your brain to focus it's simply a footprint in the sand taken at sunrise on a beach in Mombassa Kenya. Otherwise it looks 3-D. Nothing has been "tampered" with other than a bit of brightness/contrast to enhance the effect.

Very nice FarsideMichael! Lydia, this is your brain fooling you. If you rotate the image, it will look more normal to you. Our brains are used to light coming from above, so when it comes from below instead, things seem to bulge the opposite way. Kudos to you Michael for giving the image that little twist - or rather large twist, depending on how you look at it (180 degrees to be precise).
