Jubilation!

Centereach, Long Island NY

Shot my sister's wedding vow renewal ceremony. The church, of course, was very dark. My camera was set for the interior shots. I came out to do the outside shots and everyone burst fourth before I could change the settings. When I saw this I just shot as an instinctive reaction. This image was so badly overexposed that much of the image went to pure white, leaving it this cartoonish look. I increased the saturation to exaggerate the look. The expressions and poses were absolutely priceless. I couldn't bare to part with the image. I couldn't have set the scene better if I'd planned it. It looks staged, but it's spontaneous! I'm so excited about this image. It's one of my favorites of the day.

Thank you, Sam. At first I thought the image was ruined by the overexposure, but then I thought that the burst of brightness emphasized the explosiveness of the scene. I'm happy that you get this too. :) ~ Lonnit

Absolutely priceless, the joy is in every corner! The overexposure only adds to the brightness of the occasion, IMHO. I like it. Sam Attal
