She Stole My Bicycle (With Her Smile) * Traveller

Actually, this is a trash picker's bicycle, and he tows a yellow cart behind it. I was out photographing trash last night and....well, it is a long story.

But, I do people so infrequently, and I rather liked the fun of this image.

I like the photo traveller. Great job in a challenging lighting situation, not to mention the other dimensions of the situation. I was initially fooled as it is a nice bike for a trash-piker. He/she must be doing a thriving business. This reminds me of a commuity of trash-pickers in Cairo called ‘Zabaleen’. Some of the Zabaleen workers in this district have earned a decent living from collecting garbage and reselling some of it to recycling centers, but most live in extreme poverty and still work without protection. The government says that they are quite effective and crucial in efforts to keep the city clean. Best wishes. Sam Attal

Traveller, your life seems to be a continuing adventure. Just keep those stories--and your photos--coming.

Well done...er...cutie this is a really nice capture. I guess it will qualify on account the cute lady being - trashed ;-)

It is a fun image - but I can't help but think the trash picker at work with his bike would be even better! Cindy

Wonderful capture... even better the story behind it... and also the commentary. Compliments to all involved... from the smiling one to the better half to the cutie that escaped...! :-) :-) Regards jnconradie

Great capture Traveller, you little cutie.. you! Lucky her husband was there or you might not have escaped!
Remarkably clean for ISO800 but then that is the strength of the CMOS sensor.
I like the 'trash bike' concept, well done. ~ Regards Melbob

She was drunk, she was with her husband, she thought that I was..."Such a Cutie!"

I was photographing trash.

Her husband seemed to be good with this, but I was very uncomfortable, though laughing with a nervous titter....

To get her off of me, I had her get on the bike for a Photo Shoot.

I think it came out quite well all things considered. I like the skin tones, but I don't know if this came out well because I was shooting at 800asa, flash White Balance, at 1/10th of a second (?), or what?

But I think the image works.

They asked for and I gave them my business card, but now I kind of wish that I had asked for their email so that I could send this to them.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Night shots are always fun. Maybe you'll even tell us the long story before this challenge is over!
