The shoe looks like it has been battered by rough terrain, the monopod is quite well preserved in contrast. You should walk less, and take pictures more, Victor! Kidding of course :) Nice texture to this image. I like it. Greetings. Sam Attal

It's the bottom of the sole of a shoe. The crack on the left is where the shoe bends the most as I take a step. Toe is on the right, heel on the left. The normal tread is worn down. The patterns you see are mostly due to internal structures of the sole. -- Victor

I couldn't tell what it was from the thumb, and I still can't... even after reading your comment about what it is, I still can't make it out....tripod foot ok, but what else?

Very intersting Victor, I like the worn texture of the soul juxtaposed with the clean metal of the monopod leg. Cheers, Vikas

The tripod foot, by the way, is in the Pacific Ocean, or the beach on the west side of Vancouver Island. When it came off, I saw it on the beach. Before I had a chance to retrieve it, a wave swallowed it up, like a lady working the laundry on a washboard. I set the shoe sideways on a board and lit from the left with a small lamp. -- Victor

That is the sole of my favorite pair of shoes, which, unfortunately, are not made anymore. Next to it is my monopod (has three legs but only one foot). Pictured is one of the footless legs. -- Victor

Nice, Victor, exactly what is this and how did you capture this? Best Wishes, Traveller
