I love the metal on red. Great color.

Yes, as most of you have recognized, it *is* a garlic press. Congrats to all who found it out and thanks to everybody for your comments. DRabbit, your ideas would not only have helped to improve the photo but also to add some difficulty.

Colorful, graphic image. Garlic press was the first thing that came to my mind as well, but I'm not sure... --Melanie

I'd go with the Garlic Press if I could remember what one looks like (can you tell I don't cook often? LOL) -- I would have guessed some kind of hinge though.
Real nice photo though... I might crop it just a tad tighter... lose the bit on the top and a sliver on the bottom... that's just a nit-pick though, and a pretty subjective choice.

I'm good with the press guess. Nicely conceived and executed. -Michael

Garlic press was my initial guess also - love the background too! CJ

I never thought a garlic press has any aesthetics. But I have to say that the unsual angle, lighting and bold colors makes this a very interesting idea and makes me think what other UFOs are out there :) . -Cat

I second the garlic press. I love the background.

Nice colour and form! From the thumbnail it looks like an old radio mike but on closer inspection could be a garlic press with an olive "de-stoner" built in!

Looks like it's hinged and made to squeeze something through those little holes with. But it would have to be something fairly flat.. hmm. Perhaps a shoemakers tool.. a funny grip sole prototype device? Or to handle something very hot with.. like liquid glass.. to make glass marbles from?

Wow. One of the most intense reds I have seen in ages. And the transition to yellow/orange is beautiful. I love the photograph, but yet again am clueless as to what this is. Even the title is not helpful. I guess the 29 holes must have some significance? (I would have been tempted to do some editing to remove the two dark spots top right and top left.) Stunning image.
