Melanie,

I just found a font that was close to what was on the plate, sampled the original color of the text with the eyedropper, used the distort tool to get teh perspective and size right and finally blurred it about 2 pixels.

Heh, clever and well-composed. How do you make the re-done license plate look so real? --Melanie

Actually I'm in a 4x4 mood. The RRS-SC is coming in the next 3-4 weeks :)

Thanks, Grant, for the additional posts and explanations... very interesting, impressive and most valuable to learn from! Much appreciated. Regards ~jnconradie

I would encourage anyone to get a 2007 997 Targa4. That is the only car better than this one. Go for it.

Hmm, shall I cancel the car I ordered. It's not like this one, slightly better :)

Traveller, you are right. This was a set-up.

jnconradie, Here is what came out of the camera:

I made three curve adjustment layers (trees, car, road) with masks to adjust the image.

Oh, and the Title is a multi-leveled joke...it was the joke as well as the image that shouted, Grant! Best Wishes, Traveller

Well, I presume that this Carrera belongs to Mr. Hamilton and he parked it on a little used road for this excellent image...I actually knew it was Grant's before I looked. Great image as per usual. Best Wishes, Traveller

Grant, I have to confess that I did not recognize this as one of yours... quite different from what I perceive to be your usual style. It looks like a photograph from an advertising brochure... but obviously not quite, since the registration plates would probably disqualify the image from being used for that purpose! :-) I am ever-curious about how this type of picture came about: I can hardly believe that it was sheer coincidence, that you just happended to be standing next to that stretch of road and this vehicle came past..? Compliments and regards ~jnconradie
