Cool, Brent!! I thought I noticed a difference in the colors, even from the thumbnail. The perspective is right-on now, too. Good job! -mikey

Thanks again all for your comments. I posted a re-shoot here using Olaf's advise of shooting the center building straight and also used a CP filter to reduce reflection on the glass. Hope everyone likes this one better or just as well anyway? :-)

Nice shot Brent, and the straightening worked very well. Thanks Olaf for the tips _ I'm sure I'll need them! CJ

Nice shot of this interesting building, and I think the straightening did improve it :). --Melanie

Got it, Brent! I can see the difference and I like it. I see that the windows on the left are now slightly out of parallel, but the edge of the building was to easily referenced to the edge of the pic. Best wishes, -mikey

I work a lot with photos of architecture, so I do a fair share of perspective correction as well. Some tips for all: when you shoot, aim at getting the verticals _in the middle of the frame_ vertical. This way using the perspective tool in Photoshop should be enough, otherwise one will have to rotate the image first (to get the verticals in the middle vertical), which means further cropping.

Also, if you use the Perspective tool in Photoshop, don't correct it all in one end of the photo. My experience is it will not look right - the proportions will either look too tall and skinny or too short and fat. Instead, do about half of the compensation at the top (usually by pulling outwards) and half at the bottom (usually by pushing inwards)...

Thanks Mikey, I guess the tall building as a whole does look slightly skewed to the left. I worked on lining the windows on the left side up with the frame and they could become problem if I play with the geometry again, but maybe I'll give it a shot or try and shoot this one again.

Nice shot, Brent. I can't help but note that I'd be happier with it if the building was upright, i.e. parallel with the edges. Warm fuzzies, -mikey
