Thanks for the high-quality tutorial, Olaf. I enjoyed it and found it just as valuable as your previous ones, by the way. Melanie, me neither! - but then you made me look for purple in my surroundings... Sorry if this is not perfectly according to the rule of thirds. This 'object' could only be shot from this very angle - or else it would fail on the purple part of the requirements. I deal with proportions on a daily basis and I never considered the rule of thirds to be an exact science... Anybody have any feed-back on how successful or unsuccessful I was in making this look more like film? I'd be really interested in hearing your views!

Thanks Trav! Not a lot of purple around here, but when I looked at my mobile from a certain angle, the display did have this color (the display background color is actually white when you look at it straight on), so I gave it a go, even though I should've been sleeping... I've updated this image: made it a little brighter.
