Darn, this is good. I love the color of that anodized aluminum. Very pretty. And the very shallow DOF is just right here, especially since you got that entire spoke to fall within the plane of focus. I'm sure that's not an accident! Beautiful colors, composition, and lighting. Jim H.

Thanks Cj, Mikey, and PK :-) That below the spoke nipple is just road dust that covers the whole wheel, but only shows up in within the narrow DOF. I could have cleaned the wheel, but thought that the dust added interest to the image.

Sweet macro...It works very well.
Is that water drops running down from the spoke nipple?

Great shot Brent - love the composition and color. You must be a very serious bike rider! :-) CJ

Thanks JN and Melanie. This is simply an aluminum bicycle spoke nipple anodized purple to harden the surface and resist corrosion Melanie. Usually they are chromed brass I think, but I had these wheels built with aluminum ones to cut down weight where it counts the most on a bike. Unfortunately I still get passed by other cyclists now and then despite the weight savings :-(

Okay, that's odd, I commented on this a couple of days ago--but now my comment is gone. This has happened to me several times over the past few weeks with these challenges. Anyways...interesting image with the line going diagonally across, and great color. What sort of thing is this with the purple spokes? --Melanie

Wonderfully creative... the colour is amazing and of course you got the composition solidly done as well. Compliments on a very creative piece of work. Regards ~jnconradie
