Yes, Victor. He's a vizsla (you almost spelled it correctly). He will be 4 years old in September and I also have a female who will be 3 years old in a few weeks. We had a litter of 9 puppies last September. Too cute. You can see the gang at www.highpointvizslas.com but don't be too critical as most of the photos were taken in my pre-digital days. Also, many were supplied by the puppy owners. ~Harvey

Oh, that's unfortunate, but I do understand, having paid a double share for a single divorce myself. By the way, I meant to ask before, is that a Viszla (or however you spell it)? -- Victor

Once again, thank you for your kind words. Yes, Lonnit was very helpful with this, Michael, and I certainly appreciate her suggestions.

Autumn, I am going to show your comments to my wife so she sees all the money I spend on photo gear is worth every penny. ;-)

Victor, the only way I can re-shoot that image without the sofa covering is at the price of a divorce. My dogs on the sofa without a cover? NO WAY! And if I did, I'd never be dumb enough to have photographic evidence out there for her to find. I paid for one divorce many years ago and can't afford another. ;-)

I'd like to see a version of this without the towel and blanket. Possible? -- Victor

This is like an oil painting... colors are so rich with fine detail and definition in all aspect of the image. Classic composition that is exposed beautifully.

Harvey, I think Lonnit's suggestion was an excellent one and you've done a nicely subtle implementation which does the trick. -Michael

Lonnit, thanks again for the advice and the assistance. I see what you mean and I agree that this works better. Much appreciated. ~Harvey

YES! Well done, Harvey. When my eyes drift over to that corner, they instantly shoot back to the dog, immediately realizing there's nothing over there to bother with. There is an area, at the top of the head level, that is slightly lighter than the top corner and the rest of the side, but it's not a hugh problem. I'm just mentioning it for the next time you want to use the technique. Really works well now - I don't care about that couch anymore, just the perfect poochie. :) ~ Lonnit

Lonnit, I may not have done it as well as it should be but I am wondering if this newly posted version is what you had in mind. ~Harvey

I just meant darkening up the edges of the image which brings more attention to the subject. I suggested it b/c you're not really getting any light falloff to the right edge and top so it keeps the green blanket sort of prominent, where it should just be background music. :) ~ Lonnit

Thank you all for your complimentary words. Much appreciated.

Lonnit, I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by 'the edges burned in'. Could you please explain that for me. I'm pretty new to this having only owned a digital system since the beginning of this year and Photoshop even less time.

Nice pooch, nice colors, nice shot. I'd love to see the edges all burned in a tad to give the image a bit of drama. ~ Lonnit
