The Hermit's Residence * Traveller

To live in a pristine wilderness...ahh, tis' devoutly to be desired...or feared. The Greeks defined "Genius," as the ability to entertain oneself and find joy also in solitude...but there may be, I suspect, places with too much isolation. This may be one such place.

Thanks, Olaf, Really! I tend to not play with images...a little cuves, a little Dvelvia, a little USM, that's all....but your analysis is correct...and it really isn't a bad picture....so it does deserves a little love & kindness, (smile) Best Wishes, Traveller

Traveller, I thought the image looked a bit "milky" and suspected that the shadows were not dark enough. I checked in PS and sure enough there are no real dark areas in this shot. A simple levels adjustment, setting the lower input level to 30 on the RGB-channel, makes for a quite an improvement tonally. Nice shot btw, and I like your caption words. --Olaf.dk

Another great shot, Traveller! The vertical orientation was an excellent decision, since it adds to the vastness of the shot.

Majextic landscape and clever idea. I like this the most from your three entries

I would love to live for two days, ok, three days max in such a place. With a variety of lenses, imagine the photo opportunities. Not only that, but also imagine to be immersed in such a natural beauty. I can hear music when looking at this photo. Great capture.

No, AAM1234, you are correct in that I am certain that no one lives there and that this small building is for the storage of tools for logs that are floated down to the enclosing booms seen in the image.

And yet, and yet, but still, the idea that this could be a house stuck out in the middle of nowhere and that someone might actually live in it...well, that idea was interesting and something I wanted to plant in people's minds, even if not literally true.

But thanks for the comment, Best Wishes, Traveller

Do you think people actually live there? maybe it's a storage on water for their equipment. In any case, I like it as much as your other photo --- aam1234
