This had become dusty as bookcase momentos tend to do...so I boiled it in bleach beore photographing. I do like the patterns.

Nice job with what must have been a difficult exposure. It almost looks like it's been lit from behind in some places. I do like the mix of regular pattern and irregular shapes. (I never would have thought to prepare the coral by boiling it in bleach. Seems to have done the job.)

I like this, but agree that there could be more contrast (or something). I tried shooting some pictures of one of these for the long exposure challenge (but didn't like my results). I like this much better than what I came up with. --Melanie (mlynn)

Now this crop i like. My preference would be for a touch more contrast. Ok... lots more and then maybe b&w. And then maybe noise.. but thats me... im a tinkerer. andy

I think this one has a huge amount of potential. In this case, if feels like the lighting is overdone or the color balance is off a bit. My gut says there is a whole lot more detail to be had with this piece of coral and feel like it would be worth it to follow up on the idea. Again, a world of potential here. --Nancy/odigi
