Grant: DUH!!! The white I was seeing is the background underneath the egg carton. lol
I was thrown off because the left side background was so grey / dark and the right side so white (from the lighting no doubt). This same thing happened to one of my images in another challenge. I posted an image of a line-up of liqour bottles with a Tiki hut in the background, it's fringes hanging down. Someone posted a comment that they liked the water fountain in the background. he he. They did exactly what I did. Great shot. markjay

no paper. not sure what you are seeing. this was placed on a white table lit from the side by a window.

The colors are indeed appealing, Grant. Is that paper stuck to the carton on the right side of the image? I'm just curious about that. Great shot. Markjay

Love the detail when you look close...easy to miss on the thumb...but this is cool...additionally, a small nit, but I'd try to get a consistent crop on all sides (margin size) if possible.
