Self*

Boston, MA

I wanted a clear, clean self portrait to use in a composite image (I layered the view from my window over my face) in my culture shock series. I actually ended up sort of liking this one by itself though.

Canon EOS 10D ,Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
1/50s f/2.8 at 85.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Funny thing: I feel like you are looking straight at me with your left eye, while I don't "connect" with your right eye... Are you left-eyed? - by that I mean do you prefer using your left eye? Excellent self-portrait! --Olaf

I like this (self)portrait. Your expression puzzels me and that makes it interesting. "What's on her mind?" Excellent. /Jonas Svedberg

Pretty, but something doesn't seem right about her chin; it's almost too soft. The composition is outstanding.

Nice shot. Good eye direction (looking at the camera). I'm tempted to do a self portrait this weekend, but it won't be anything like this! Did you use a remote for this, or timer? Does it take ages to get it right when you're doing a self portrait? - Jono

Very nice, Sarah. The flat lighting works very well.

A pensive expression, lovely skintones in this portrait.
