This shot actually had blue sky and pine trees as a background. I thought the black background made it look more grapic.

The black is a nice touch and really accentuates the warmth of the light.

Interesting pattern and the lighting really help in bringing out the texture of the stones which adds interest. The warm white balance (low sun?) seems very appropriate for the subject as well. Nicely seen! --Olaf
