Thanks for the comments on the photo. It is a photography of an island out in our harbour that I took when it was backlit at sunset and decided it would make a good high contrast composition. There is so many gulls that almost all vegetation is gone.... Bruce

I've been thinking about this, that one could substitute the white for one color and the black for another and there would be endless graphic interpretations of this. What got me into this line of thinking is actually a silk-screen artwork my wife has made - dark brown on a tan background of a natural scene similar to this, but with dear grazing instead of birds sitting... Just thought I'd mention it. --Olaf
