Thanks everyone for your advice! I am sure I set my shutter speed for 1000, however my exif is lost somewhere. (sometimes it stays on the shot & other times it disappears) I did pan with the bird as it was flying but not with a tripod?? Any other suggestions? I will keep practicing.

Just to add to what everyone has said, the shutter needs to be faster to get sharper pics. You don't indicate what your shutter speed was, but (as a guess) I'd say you need 1/500 or faster, maybe less if you ar eon a tripod with good panning technique. Phil

Susan,
I like the composition and I agree with Olaf, maybe just a sliver off the top. Great reflection and it has a nice flow. Roberta

I like the crop the way it is, except I might want to cut off a slight sliver on the top. The ground on the top is a little bit distracting - pulls my eye away. You could try to darken the land part of the image - that might help! Awesome reflection! About getting sharper photos of moving subjects - use a faster shutter speed and/or a good camera support! For example, to make sure your shutter speed is high enough in varied lighting situations, you could lock it in using the Tv-mode on your camera. With a little experimenting you'll find what the "right" shutter speed is for different kinds of moving subjects. --Olaf

The reflectin on this shot rocks!!! I would have been nice if the image was a little sharper and like ed said a tighter crop.

Heck, I sure don't know how I can help you, other than (if this is a tight crop) to suggest a longer lens. :-)
