These were hiding under an overhang on my balcony. I felt pretty brave taking this shot. The EF70-200 F4L with EF-25 macro adapter is an amazing combination. It was a very sad moment limiting this photo to nearly half of its original resolution for the "original" resolution in this entry. Please do check out the "original" resolution.


The lighting was mirrored sunlight.

Amazing photo (Especially the full res version). And yes, you are brave...these things will attack. I speak from unfortunate experience.

Canon's is the only extension tube I've ever tried. I got it mostly because it supported both EF and EF-S lenses and I thought it might be fun to hook up an EF-S lens to my 10D at the time. I've since gotten a lot more interesting lenses than the EF-S that was available at the time. It's one of the most useful accessories I've gotten, right up there with the TC-80N3 timer remote controller.

A great, sharp image with nice color and tone (especially in the background - like a studio shot!). The "upside down" subjects add to the tension. -Ed Hahn

You are one brave person. I thing this is a great shot, and you are right the original resolution must be awesome. My only comment would be that more focus on one of the wasps would have made this better. But considering the shot...it is great.

Ack! I have these nasties on the outside of my apartment. They even made a nest under the lid of our dumpster. I keep waiting for either 1) my hand to go right in it, or 2) for them to attack me for disturbing them by adding garbage to the can.

Great detail though! SOrry if the subject gives me the heebee jeebees!
