After looking at this for a while I decided I liked the original version better also - including the pint of Guiness and the Caesar - this is it, no more changes :)

I was checking out previous challenges and I saw this same photo in Challenge #6 hosted by ISO. I think I like that version better. - Byron

You know what really works well for that? Using a strong black light as part of your lighting. (well, this works for visual inspection. I'm assuming it carries over to photographs) -- Victor

It's "Draganization" not posterization -- an extra helping or 2 of the blue channel in order to bring out the skin imperfections ;)

It wasn't just the eyes. I wasn't going to mention the other things, but since you've posted it here now, I will. I suppose it is some sort of posterization that I'm seeing. The coffee colored parts of the face look pretty bad, especially around the nose -- also on the neck. This was not present in your original image. Did you do some curves adjustment or something? -- Victor

Yeah, I did go a bit overboard on the eyes :) Replaced my original here with a toned-down cropped version.

I like the crop on the linked picture, but not what you've done to the eyes. -- Victor

I like how his face comes out of the shadows - which leads to a (*) - what does it look like with a tighter crop (so the drink isn't visible anymore)?
