Cornered
AJ

Ok, I'll admit it, this one sends my stomach aflutter.

Don't be afraid to say if this one
gives you that nauseus feeling too :oÞ

Shot in infrared with the Sony.
PS was IR toning and framing.

**** UPDATE ****

This is a very similar shot, just taken with the lens
zoomed out a little more than the original one posted.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thats a pity your D60 won't do it. At least it gives you a reason to upgrade ;)

And what I mean by garbage is a bunch of noise, hot pixels, OOF, and just generally a mess.
Guest 23-Jul-2004 18:18
No, Teapot. The 10D, D30, and 300D can do IR. The D60 is just not as sensitive to IR light as those other three. (I have tried MANY times with a Hoya R72.) Even at ISO 1000, the images were just red garbage. There are many posts on dpreview about disappointed D60 users because IR isn't something that the D60 can do.

Your D60 should be able to do it with aid of a Hoya IR72 filter or equivalent. It's something I've been meaning to get after a friend with a Nikon D100 showed me some of his IR shots.

I wish I could put this in eligible, Teapot, but it's taken with my Sony F707 because it's the camera I have that is capable of shooting Infrared. My D60 can't do it :( I'm not sure this picture would be the same in regular color.

Wow Angela. This is stunning. I love the composition and the dreamy ethereal colours. Make sure you do a reshoot for the eligible this is a winner.

This one has more of an incline, doesn't it? I think I liked the other better - somehow it was more (pardon the irony!) balanced. I can't wait to see the reshoot! :) ~ Lonnit

Ok, Lonnit, I went back through the ones I shot earlier and saw I had taken two photos with this composition, the first one was the one I had originally uploaded, and this was the 2nd one, taken with the lens zoomed out a little more to allow more room above the tree. I don't know why I didn't use this one originally. :oÞ

I still hope to go for a reshoot tomorrow, but for now, this is a slight improvement. :)

Yea, it kind of upsets me too, I'll have to go back tomorrow and do a reshoot. This is the original composition, no crop. I forgot to include in my original notes that I shot this in Infrared with my Sony and then toned in PS.

Maybe tomorrow when I go, I'll have to walk into the field (rather than stand at the roadside) and get a shot from a low perspective near the bales. That's what I had orignally wanted to do, but my boys didn't want to walk into the field with me, so I shot what I could. Now all I have to do is hope the weather stayes nice tomorrow!!

This shot upsets me! LOL! I wish you'd have had a wider angle on it b/c the hay and the tree are pushed too far to the corners leaving too much blank space in the middle. Had you backed up or used a wider angle this shot would have been so utterly fantastic! I mean it's beautiful now but really bugs me. I would have put it right up there among the best challenge shots ever taken! Please tell me you cropped it this way after the fact and the original is bigger! AUUUUGHHHH! SOOO close to a masterpiece!!! You're torturing me here Angela! BTW, how the heck did you get this look? It's incredible! ~ Lonnit
