Thanks Ed, I've had plans to build a lightbox for a while but there are so many things to do. It's interesting to see your photos, I've had my eye on a JLC for a while.

Thanks for the suggestions, next time I do this type of shot I'll try a polarizer. Ed, are any of your other watch shots online?

To keep the hands visible but remove the reflection from the glass, use a polarizer. Glass polarizes light, but metal doesn't. -- Victor

Nice capture...(*) if you wanted to decrease the reflection off the crystal, you can put a piece of black paper at the spot that gets reflected by the crystal into the lens. However, you might find that it makes the hands invisible... (FWIW, I do a fair amount of watch photography.) -Ed Hahn
