Nice. Real nice. --Joe

I've put up a better color-balanced image...but there may be some caching. Hit "reload" if the lower left hand still looks pale vs. the upper hand. -Ed Hahn

Thanks Joe - I appreciate it very much - will try improving tonight. -Ed Hahn

Well, efforts paid off, as the lighting looks perfect to me. You might consider some selective (and oh-so-careful) dodge/burn to gain similar tone on the paired hands. If you remove this point of tension (i.e. the ambiguity in the hand assortment), this moves from "good" to "excellent". Can't put my finger on it (no pun intended), but there is something about this image I really like. I returned to it this morning to see if it had the same impact, and it did. --Joe

No, just two people. The lighting was difficult (I have yet to invest in a studio lighting rig) and getting this shot without any horrible shadows required some interesting contortions...like for example, my chin is pointing to the sky so it doesn't cast a shadow on the shirt. I'm thinking that the upper hand is darker because it isn't receiving the (overhead) light directly, while the lower left hand *is*. My wife's hand is quite a bit lighter in tone than mine.

BTW, what technical flaw in the caption? ;-) -Ed Hahn

Coupla thoughts on this, Ed. An engaging image with a bit of a paradox: The longer I look, the less I understand. The hands appear unmatched (3 people?). Also, I like the mild softening effect here; gives it a bit of radiance. Suggestion: Don't point out technical flaws in your caption; I may well have missed the mild motion blur had you not referenced it [*sMiLe*]. Nice image.
