IMOP. Great thought but a higher contrast is needed.

I too would prefer a brighter image. I would also seek better isolation from the background, the baby's hand further from the edge and higher.

I like the idea, as it is a tender/wonderful moment, and the use of shallow DOF to give the image a primary center of interest. But I think it could stand for greater brightness and contrast. My eyes had great difficulty interpreting forms on the full-size image. Somewhat unusual, but I had an easier time with the thumbnail.
