StoneMonkey, that's a good idea, dark streetlamp + maybe wet cobblestones. I have to wait a couple of months for that, right now all the nights here are bright :-)

I like this composition. What I am wondering though is what woul dthe shot be like taken at night - there is a street lamp to the right of the shot which could cast soem interesting shadows and a different colour onto the cobbles.

Hi everyone, thx for comments. I kinda liked the darkness in on the sides instinctively, but didn't do anything to make them darker. The circular polarizing filter did that for free :-)

Anna: I've admired this image several times before in your gallery.

Olaf, you have a great eye! After reading your comment this image took a entirely new perspective in my mind. It's amazing how you thought about the details on those trees. Had there been too much colors or details on those trees, it would've demanded attention for itself, distracting from that path stunningly textured by stones.

Beautiful, eyes are drawn to the figure and the blue sky compliments the scene perfectly. Very very nice................ Vikas

Anna--I just got through writing the exact observation as Olaf!! I didn't notice the trees, however. Great one, Anna!! Shu

Nice one Anna! Your eye is drawn to the tiny person on top of the hill, but on the way there is the interesting texture of the cobbled street to please the eye - greatly enhanced by the backlighting. The sky is interesting as well - the clouds look almost caricature-like. Did you darken the trees, or are they so dark due to the backlight? I can't help but wonder what the image would have looked like had there been a bit more light and color on those trees... --Olaf
