That low angle light is really great Olaf. This image give a feeling of dampness, a place that never dries out.

Thanks Shu! Yes, the special light was what caught my attention in the first place, almost like I was directed from above: take a photo here! Just a few weeks later, this shot would not have been possible, as the forest would have sprung and the low sun would have never reached this deep. --Olaf

The highlighted blanket of green moss makes this image very enticing. I keep going back to it, because that one patch of light pulls me right in. Shu

Thanks Vikas and Karthik! The image you saw was basically straight from the camera, all I'd done was resize, add the white frame and save for the web. I have now played a little more with it in Photoshop: when downsizing I chose "bicubic sharper", but haven't done any other sharpening. I made a duplicate layer, set it to multiply with a high-contrast black and white version of the shot as a layer mask. This added some more "richness" to the highlights and light midtones while not affecting the shadows and darker midtones. Also, I cropped from 750 to 740 pixels in height, snipping off the ten pixels at the bottom. Finally, I decided a black frame suited the image better.

This has always been my favorite subject! Very nicely done. Earth colors with the green and the way you've framed it gives a nice depth to this image. - Karthik.
