There's something about the lighting that I don't like. I get the same feeling I get from an image that is lit from below. However this one is lit from the side. I suppose lighting is through the window and perhaps by reflection off the floor. Perhaps adding an overhead reflector would have helped. -- Victor

I cropped the top. I think it is better than the other way. Thanks Olaf. Ann

Olaf,
I want you to know that I appreciate and value your suggestions. Looking at the photo and moving it down so I can see it as if cropped, I think you are right. I will do this if I have time. And thank you for the comments about how my photographs reveal who I am. This is one of the best complements I've received in a long time. Thank you. Ann

Ann, one thing I admire about your photography, is how you use it, almost like a diary, to focus and reflect upon the things and people around you, the things that matter to you. I feel like I've gotten to know you through the photos you've shared here. because they have such a personal quality to them. This is something you may not notice when looking at a singular shot of yours, but when put together, they definitely seem to be revealing some of yourself! I write this here, by this photo, because I feel it has that kind of diary-quality to it (OK, helped by your caption too).

The light is very soft and nice in this shot. The depth-of-field and sharpness are both very good and the exposure is perfect! I would suggest cropping a little bit at the top. It will cut off some of the out-of-focus "green buds", but imo that doesn't matter, as long as the one in front and sharpness is not cut off. I think cropping helps the balance of the photo, as there will be less of the dark background at the top, which seems a little heavy.
