Yes, these are glass rods. They are manufactured by SCHOTT Technologies (makers of all sorts of glasses for many industries)and are 48% lead, optical quality. The rods are about an 1 1/4 inches in diameter and 36 inches long. This particular glass is used by many high end glass artists for sculpture.
