Olaf, Victor
The glass doors are indeed basically the outside of a foyer (they are sliding, and one is open, it may have been better had I kept them closed) - I have to say they messed up the idea I had, but this is my house, the doors were like that when I got here (I wouldn't have chosen them myself) and I really didn't think other people would take kindly to me standing outside their house taking photos of their door!
The camera was actually on a tripod (albeit not my "proper" one, so not as solid). Phil
Olaf, Before you get an answer from Phil, let me take a stab at this. If you look carefully, you can see a number 33 on the wood just to the left of the door as well. This would seem to also indicate the outside of the house. You can also see blurry bushes at the bottom in front of the door and blurry branches above the lamp, so I think it's clear that we're on the outside.
I also notice on the extreme right that there is a place in the frame for a latch of some sort. This could either be for the golden doorknob (I doubt it) or the black handled latch, which looks to be on a sliding door.
Now if you look carefully at the light from the lamp (this is a light challenge, after all) you notice that the light on the white door is clearly coming from the lamp at upper right. This pattern is not on the sliding door. So I assume that the sliding door is a glass door in front to a foyer. The other end of the foyer has the white door which is on the same plane as the lamp.
I bet if the perspective were about a foot to the right or lower down, it would be much clearer (but probably not as good a picture). There's also a mail slot, so I assume the sliding glass door is unlocked. Well, that's my guess anyway. -- Victor

Phil, you've got me looking at this for the longest time. I have a hard time understanding the spatial relationships here: The number on the door tells me this is taken from outside. The lamp seems like an outdoor fixture, but seems to be inside? The whole entry seems to be a box protruding from the house, is that right? Is that window to the right of the door not really a window but a mirror? It seems to have a door nob as well but it seems to be on the door frame? Maybe the white door is the one that is only a reflection - but the number 33 is not mirrored. You've got me confused! Looks a bit blurry - did you handhold beyond your capabilities? --Olaf
