very very nice, love the white/pink at the base and the lighting is spot on.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!
For Olaf.dk: The camera, 10D with Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 & cable release, was placed on a tripod using AV mode F/16. Lighting source was set up roughly 3ft away on the right hand side sligtly under the flowers at a 45 degree angle (A single handheld Canon Speedlite 420EX off-camera + Omni-bounce). On the left right next to the flowers, I placed a big white paper reflector to reduce shadows. Roughly 2ft behind the flowers, a black paper background was used.

Of all the tulips in the challenge so far, I like this the best! The framing and the lighting are outstanding! The lighting really conveys the delicate color pattern on the petals and render them almost like silk. Very nicely done! I also like the way you present the photograph, the pas-partout, signature and humble frame, none of which compete for attention. May I ask about your setup in general and lighting in particular? --Olaf.dk

Dick,
This is an exquisite image! It's one of the best tulip shots that I've seen. Perfect lighting, viewpoint and DOF. I really love this image. The complementary colors are very pleasing. Excellent! Roberta

Dick,

I like this one - especially blurred bottom and a perfect framing for this shot.
Why don't you provide EXIF data - so we can see your settings (F-stop)?
