*Toadally Trashed!

This looks so much better in Photoshop b/c the jpg compression is ruining the clarity. I have it as a file in my gallery at http://upload.pbase.com/image/26092987/original, if you'd like to see a larger version.

Lonit,

I am not a big web talker so got lost on this bit 'TIRDML'. I guessed the first part I think, somthing about laughing at wee bit?

Rob, I'm LMAOTIRDML!!

Olaf, this has nothing to do with any story or TV, etc. It's just my own story of a bunch of frogs that go out to party for the night. 1. Froggy's on his way to pick up his friends. 2. Froggy's getting in the mood by turning up the stereo and singing (croaking?) along. 3. He picks up his friends. 4. They've partied all night and are on thier way home, trashed - one passed out on the back seat, the other looking like he's about to vomit. 5. Friends have been dropped off and one exhausted and spent froggy is on his way home.

Simple story, maybe you were looking too deep! LOL! ~ Lonnit

Totally mad :), frame 3 is a bit worrying not sure where the hands will end up, frame 4 just enforces the worry on where his other hand is (just look at the drivers face LOL), and frame 5.. I'll say no more.

very funny, with spot on colors and loads of fun - love it

Lonnit, I may just be thick-headed, but I just don't get the story here. Maybe you are referring to something in the American consciousness, from TV or otherwise, that one would have to know in order to understand? --Olaf

The single frames were boring to me when compared to the story they told together. :) The garishness of the colors seemed to me to suit the insanity and unreality of a fairytale gone wrong. I thought it suited the bizarreness of it all very well. If you think it that freaky, that's a plus to me. It made you react. :) Thanks for hating it! LOL! ~ Lonnit

I don't like it :)

What was wrong with just one of the frames? The first one for example. There's just way too much going on, and the bright green dividers grate horribly to my eyes. the purple and green might be complementary colours, but I think you are following the rules a little too closely. Just because they are complementary doesn't necessarily mean they go well together. It's a fine fine line between pleasure and pain.

Olaf? Nope, was shooting toys that day and never saw his. doesn't surprise me that anyone else would shoot toys - they're so colorful! I still haven't been able to finish my 3rd entry, which is still more toys. LOL! I couldn't get my subjects any further from the background. When one is desperate, one uses backgrounds like hubby's t-shirt tucked into a dresser drawer hanging down and spread to the floor! As you can imagine, you can't get all that far away from the background! LOL! I did the best I could with the lens wide open. Maybe next time I can try a longer garment like a full length coat or a gown! LOL! ~ Lonnit

Lonnit,
Looks like Olaf inspired you to head for the toy box! Great color combination and a cute story. I agree with Gayle's suggestion. If you move your background back a bit, farther away from the subject, it will blur alittle depending on the aperture setting. Makes it much easier when you are processing.

Lonnit,

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Pbase keeps the original file intact. It's the other sizes that are a problem. For this reason I always view the originals when I vote.

Lonnit, I think this idea is really cute! Love the colors and the poses. The story is so true. This looks like a lot of creativity and time went into it, and I just love it! -- angela :)

Thanks Gayle. The backgroud was actaully a navy blue t-shirt. LOL! I darkened it up to blacken it, but I couldn't go as far with it in the 4 car frames b/c it was affecting the car color. Of course with a more time consuming method it can be done, but I had to go for a quicker fix, so this was the best I could - at least for right now. Smoothness in the backdrop was also something I was working on. I was too lazy to break out the iron and start doing all of hubby's shirts for the various shots I took, so I hand smoothed as much as possible and cloned out the worst of the wrinkles! LOL! You're right though, I know that is very important.

It's pbase mashing the images? I don't get it. Are you saying they compress them further? Is that why they look good in 'save for web' and then turn to garbage once I upload them? ~ Lonnit

Fun image, great idea and colour combo. * The background needs to be uniform black...one of the frames has a slightly darker background than the others, but they are all too light. Also pay attention to the smoothness of your backdrop. (I learned this from Iso and it's one of the most valuable things he taught me.)
The original in the link definitely looks better, although pBase tens to mash images quite a bit.
