Oh, I see it now - it's a very, very pale blue! I would expect a blue of similar saturation as the orange to be the complementary color to the orange. Thanks for the explanation! --Olaf

Oalf, the orange is sitting on a blue base! I've checked this image on several computers and the blue base is very apparent. Are you not seeing the blue object the orange sits on? Is anyone else having issues with the contrasting colors? -Neil

Very nice shot, but where is the blue (complementary color to orange)? Very nice shading and texture on the orange, I can almost feel it and smell it. Also the shadows in the background add interest. --Olaf.dk

Thanks so much for the nice comments on my photo. Regarding the shadows, that was the actual colors on in the RAW file-- no Photoshop'ing to desaturate the background. Basically just sharpened a bit in Photoshop to get to the final image. -Neil
