This is not an original idea by any means. I picked-up a copy of my favorite photo magazine (Phototlife) a few days ago. There is an article there written by an American photographer - Joe Kirkish - about the technique he has been expanding for 30 odd years of sandwiching interesting textures with portraits.

I decided to give it a try overlaying layers with masks. I shot the self-portrait a week ago and the grass mat today.
