*A Moment Alone*

I find that sometimes it doesn't take photographing a person's face to tell who that person is. Granted, "likeness" of a person is hard to capture without the face, but in a portrait there is more than "likeness" to capture. Hope you enjoy. Andrew

This was pretty much how the picture came out of the camera. The backlight and the darkness of her dress allowed for a strong contrast.

This is excellent! The selective focus is very effective as is the back-lighting and exposure. Did you bring the shadows up on the girl, or is this pretty much how the photo was exposed right out of the camera? I like the composition too, very vertical: trees, girl and shadows on the ground. --Olaf

I see what you mean about the tennis shot Rob. The never show that before in this picture, but when you mentioned it it started to see what you meant. The woman is both an athlete and strong and soft and poised. A good friend. Andrew

If I were to have taken this shot I would be very very pleased, the whole thing just works very well. For some reason It reminds me of that famous shot of the girl playing tennis walking towards the net. I know there is nothing other than she is walking away from the Camera bit it has the quality of light, very well done.

Nice shot. Good composition, shadows and contrast. You are correct that the face is not needed to express this person. Flowing dress, baseball hat and sneakers say a lot.
