I am much happier with the image now so have downloaded the file again. Thanks for your comments and the blur is where I pulled the wooden train along for two seconds! I notice a thread in the forum re G2 to D10 upgrade and the learning curve. Think I am in it now and am bewildered by how good the G2 images were out of the camera. The post jigery pokery with photoshop is proving hard work. The crisp images other people get can't all be unsharp mask results surely? I have photoshop cs on order. Any good books to read?

Peter – Since the pixels have already been discussed I can only say that besides that I liked the shot, like the coloring of it. Not sure how it fits the movie as I don’t know the movie. Guess I need to watch more movies as this has happened to me several times in looking at this challenge.

I didn't look at the big version...I bet it may be jpeg artifacts.

If you look at the large version of the image you can clearly see the square pixels. Like if the crop made was from a 306X236 and blown up to 1024X768 with no interpolation. Just my perception. Looking at smaller image you don't notice it as much.

I think what he is talking about is in the bottom corner, the left part of the wood. It looks like as if it is pixilated. Did you do any cloning in that area? Personally I think the picture is very nice, it looks like you are in deep autumn right now. Living in California I do miss the season changes at time.

A bit worried about your comments. I used the largest jpg for the shot but had to downgrade it to fit the competition rules on size. As a beginner did I do something wrong? The lens was a canon 2.8L but I’v only had the D10/lens about a week now. Any more ideas? There was very little cropping at all.

Are the large pixels in the picture a by product of heavy croping or intended? I can't decide if it is a good or a bad thing.
