Gary – I agree with ISO, to many of the pieces out focus for my eye. Liked the concept though maybe even adding a board from one of the games underneath too?

ISO, your right in retrospect I agree, I think that much of the shallow DOF is because this is the first time I've had a camera and lens that would achieve it and I got stuck on the concept of focusing on the houses. I apreciate your comments very much and it will help me as I move forward - heck I still have several entries to go so every bit of learning helps.

It's a good idea but I can't help wondering what this would be like with more DOF. I appreciate that the shallow effect here isolates the house to connect with the title, but I think there's just a bit too much blur here. Maybe just a few stops difference would make it for me - not all the pieces need to be tack sharp, just sharper than they are. Purely my own tastes of course but I hope that's a useful crit.
