Thanks Sharon, Dtallakson and Penny. Regarding the camera (also, posted this in the CTF) have been playing with it the past week, my opinions:
- the low light (fast 2.0 lens) works well up to iso800, the fill flash really works well in a party situation.
- shoot mainly in manual mode, use the front lens ring for aperture control and the rear ring for shutter.
- heavy barrel distortion at the wide angle.

My dogs get this look, too....anything to avoid the camera. I don't think they like the flash. Lately I've been trying to use natural daylight and they seem more receptive to having their photos done. -dtallakson
This dog is clearly trying to avoid having his picture taken. I think you would have had to get down on the floor with him to get his face. He must be very patient with you and that darned camera! I do find the carpet pattern a bit distracting otherwise it is a charming shot of a very annoyed dog! ~Sharon
