Rodin in Low Key

Stanford University, CA

Guardian to the Gates of Hell.
Thought it would be bright enough with 300 sec @ f/22.
Probably could have gone 500-600, but I like the liquid quality of the bronze in the low light.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Thanks Shy. Barry shows a lot more detail of the statue in his long exposure. I have a feeling I'll be revisiting this sculpture until I get it right. =D

OK, now I have to find a photo of the piece in the daylight so I can make it make sense to me. (grin) Nice ambiance and congratulations on capturing that beautiful liquid feeling you were after.

Thanks Pop. I'll check into resizing it. Figured if it were ~130k, the viewing size would take care of itself. I'm still not good with matching constraints.

I shot this with my friend Barry, also a CSLR'er. There were a couple of times in the statue garden when we said we should "paint them with light the way Pops does" :)

Absolutely love how you've got the character of the entire shot matching with the patina of the sculpture. That was good thinking, Danny.

Your picture is on the large size. It's well within our 200k file size limit but the dimensions (1279x1920) exceed most monitors. Well it's a lot bigger than my monitor. I'd suggest resizing the longest size to 800 pixel and the re-loading it. (Instruction for replacing an image are in the pending gallery).
