Coniston Fells

easily accessible from Coniston village, only whichever guidebook tells folks to graunch their way up from the Walna Scar car park up the SW butress of the Old Man of Coniston, ignore it, that's the way down! An alternative is from Seatwaite side using other end of Walna Scar road onto Dow Crag and descending by Seathwaite tarn with handy waterfalls and pools below it to cool off on a hot day.
