The Quietness of falling snow

Vashon

I remember when I was still a child, how beautifully silent the world became at night as I looked up at the street lights with the snow swirling down. Still, to this day, if there is snow coming down in great in those big marshmallow flakes, I feel the same. Happy, peaceful and loving the muffled sounds as if I am in a safe cocoon and all the noise and racket of the world has faded away.

This image is a composit of a street light, a winter snow scene, and fireworks.

I like the b/w with the "splash" of color,,,,,, we don't have snow here in south Texas, we have rain and mud but I think it is beautiful..... if I lived in a suburban area it would be fine, but I live way out in the country and have cattle, so snow isn't what I want..... the image gives a feeling of breezes blowing the flakes into a lot of motion in different directions.....

Fire from Ice and now ice from fire opposite yes emotionally attractive; but I am at a loss as to how this represents the quietness of falling snow. I've experienced the serenity and quietness of falling snow so the picture works for me as a picture but not the title with the work. Standing with opposites on this one 'still' a warm a fuzzy pix.

I grew up in New Jersey - deep snow every winter - I kinda think the snow fireworks is a little windy looking. - That biting snow that blows against your face and gives you frostbite of the ears!!
