After a marvelous time in Kenya the previous year, Rick planned a birding trip with Daan again to Uganda in 2005. Unfortunately,
both of us were unemployed during the most of 2005 so a long holiday break to sub-saharan Africa was a bit difficult to affort.
An internet-quest in search for a more payable option, finally ended with 2 weeks in Morocco. The most trip reports
we had read about it, were most promissing. Our expectations were more then fullfilled; what a beautiful country,
with lots of birds and a very pleasant atmosphere! No regrets for a second! Not even when we were treaded with an extra day,
because our booked flight home gave us some troubles... We stayed in Morocco from December 4th - 19th, 2005.
In 2016 we teamed up with our friends Erik and Jonne Kleyheeg
for a quest (for Rick again!) in search for some desert species in Southern Morocco.
This time we started our 2 weeks journey in Marrakech, visited the High and Middle Atlas, before we drove to the Tafilalt
and find some true desert species near Rissani and the Erg Chebbi. From there we travelled to
the coast near Agadir (Souss Massa National Park), visiting the Gorges du Todra and Dades along the route,
and back to Marrakech again. We stayed in Morocco from 10 to 25 March, 2016.
