Ninox boobook moae - Moa, Leti and Romang Islands (east of Timor);
Ninox boobook cinnamomina - Babar Island (east of Timor);
Ninox boobook remigialis - Kai Island (off Southwest-New Guinea);
Ninox boobook pusilla - South-New Guinea;
Ninox boobook ocellata - Sawu Island (Lesser Sundas) and Australia (except east coast);
Ninox boobook halmaturina - Kangaroo Island (off South-Australia);
Ninox boobook lurida - Northeast-Queensland (Northeast-Australia);
Ninox boobook boobook - East- to Southcentral-Australia.
