Haying equipment sometimes slows traffic during Vermont's warmer months, but most Vermonters realize that's the price of farms keeping the landscape open and green. Don't get impatient if you find yourself trundling along at 15 miles per hour--the equipment (in this case a hay cutting machine) is likely to turn off into a field or farmyard in a few minutes. The farmers don't have time to waste, either. As the bumper sticker handed out by the Halfway House Restaurant in Shoreham says, "Don't complain about farmers with your mouth full."
