I took a walk on the sand near Le Mont Saint-Michel. I was a little concerned because I had heard that the tides in the area can rise quickly--according to Victor Hugo as "à la vitesse d'un cheval au galop" or "as swiftly as a galloping horse." Fortunately, the tides remained low while I was out there enjoying the view.
