These two ladies were not models for visitors’ shooting.
They were Geishas living in Gion area.
I was lucky enough to meet them, by chance, in a street.
They walked away right after I took two pictures of them.

Geishas are traditional female Japanese performing artists.
They perform various Japanese arts, such as tea ceremony, classical music and
dance at tea houses or at traditional Japanese restaurants.

Geishas are frequently depicted as expensive prostitutes in other countries.
In fact, they are performing artists and do not engage in paid sex with clients.
