Buying balloon on the Chinese New Year's Eve has become a modern custom in Hong Kong.
The buyers hope that, by buying balloons, their positions (with their jobs)
and their fortunes will balloon in the year.

Thank you for telling me the meaning of buying balloons. I don't know why there are some many stalls in fairs selling balloons. Now, I knew it.
